Adele Announces Extended Break from Performing After Las Vegas Residency

Adele has announced that she will be taking an extended hiatus from performing once she concludes her remaining shows at her Las Vegas residency. The news came during the final performance of her 10-night Munich residency, where she played to a packed crowd at the 80,000-capacity Messe München arena in Germany—her first mainland Europe shows since 2016.

Reflecting on her nearly three-year stint of live performances, Adele admitted, “I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f**king good at it. And I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I’ll ever do.”

The singer, who earlier this year hinted at a break from creating new music, confirmed that after her final Vegas shows, she’ll be stepping away from the stage for a significant period. “After that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time,” she told the crowd.

Expressing her gratitude to fans, she added, “I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break, and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years. It has been amazing, I just need a rest.” She also shared that the past seven years have been about building a new life for herself, and now she wants to live it.

As she led the crowd in a heartfelt sing-along to ‘Someone Like You,’ it was clear that this moment would be cherished by both Adele and her fans for years to come. During her Munich residency, she also praised rising star Chappell Roan and made headlines by confirming her engagement to Rich Paul on stage.
