Mark Zuckerberg has teamed up with T-Pain for an unexpected but soulful acoustic rendition of Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz’s club anthem ‘Get Low.’ Released under the playful moniker “Z-Pain,” this reimagined version marks a personal milestone for Zuckerberg, who chose the track as an anniversary tribute to his wife, Priscilla Chan. According to Zuckerberg, ‘Get Low’ holds a special place in their story, as it was playing when they first met at a college party. The Meta CEO shared, “Every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary. This year I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece.”
The cover finds Zuckerberg handling most of the vocals, while T-Pain lends his signature ad-libs, backing vocals, and even a verse, adding a warm touch to the once-edgy banger. Their slowed-down, acoustic twist gives the track a country feel, reflecting T-Pain’s well-known love for genre-blending. T-Pain recently opened up about his affinity for country music and the challenges he’s faced as a Black artist in that space. “Good music is good music,” he said, explaining why he’s been writing country hits anonymously. “The racism that comes after is just... I’ll just take the check. Don’t put me on that sh*t.”
With ‘Get Low’ available on streaming platforms, it seems that Z-Pain’s unique rendition is already gaining traction, turning a high-energy hit into a heartfelt serenade – and proving once again that anything can happen when unexpected artists collide.
