Lady Gaga Joins "Wednesday" Season 2 Cast: A Monster Collaboration in the Making

The eerie, gothic world of Wednesday just got a whole lot more star-studded with the announcement that none other than Lady Gaga is joining the cast for its highly anticipated second season. The news, confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, reveals that the pop icon has already begun filming her scenes in Europe, though details surrounding her role remain under wraps.

Fans have been speculating about her potential character ever since series lead Jenna Ortega expressed her hopes for a Gaga cameo in 2023, suggesting a “weird mentor relationship” between Gaga’s character and Ortega’s Wednesday Addams. Ortega imagined a dynamic where two misunderstood “monsters” might bond, and it looks like the Disease singer is about to bring that vision to life.

This news follows Gaga's playful involvement with the show in late 2022, when she recreated the viral Wednesday dance on social media, remixing The Cramps’ "Goo Goo Muck" with her own “Bloody Mary,” proving once again that she's more than just a pop queen—she’s a Wednesday fan at heart. With season 2 now set to expand its dark and quirky universe, all eyes will be on Gaga’s mysterious role and how it blends with the show's offbeat charm.

Released on Netflix in 2022, Wednesday quickly captured the world’s attention, putting a fresh spin on the iconic Addams Family characters with a focus on the dark, witty, and unpredictable Wednesday Addams. Inspired by the original comic book characters, the series diverges from its previous cinematic adaptations, notably the 1990s films directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, where the role of Wednesday was famously portrayed by Christina Ricci. Interestingly, Ricci returned to the new series in a surprising yet impactful role, adding a touch of nostalgic flair.

The first season set a high bar, with the first four episodes directed by none other than Tim Burton, bringing his signature gothic flair to the series.
