Just days after securing a landmark four Grammy nominations, Chappell Roan has reportedly split from her management team at State Of The Art. The 26-year-old artist, whose debut album The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess is up for Album of the Year, alongside nominations for Best New Artist, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year for Good Luck, Babe!, has been making serious waves in the pop landscape.
Eagle-eyed fans first sensed tension after the label omitted Roan from a congratulatory social media post celebrating their Grammy nominees. Now, it appears the omission was a sign of the split. Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Amstutz, was managed by Nick Bobetsky and State Of The Art since 2018, just after she started gaining traction with her School Nights EP on Atlantic Records. The artist, who took on her stage name to honor her late grandfather, Dennis K. Chappell, is known for her vibrant style and blend of pop and country influences, often drawing comparisons to icons like Kacey Musgraves and Lady Gaga.
Her debut album The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess has been highly praised, with standout tracks like Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl and Hot To Go! catching the industry’s attention. With a unique sound that fuses elements from artists like Madonna, Confidence Man, and Olivia Rodrigo, Roan’s fresh pop approach has earned her both critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.
Even amidst the management changes, Roan seems to be moving full speed ahead. Last month, she teased her next project on Instagram with a cheeky nod to Love Island, hinting that new music is already underway. “Album kinda popped off imo,” she wrote, “but it is time to welcome a hot new bombshell into the villa.”
