BTS' V is ringing in the holidays with a special musical collaboration that bridges generations. The K-pop superstar has teamed up with the legendary Bing Crosby for a fresh rendition of the iconic holiday classic “White Christmas.” The duet, titled “White Christmas (with V of BTS),” will be released on December 6, marking an era-defying moment in music history.
The collaboration, a partnership with the Bing Crosby Estate, Primary Wave Music, and Geffen Records, has been described as an “era-bridging collaboration,” combining Crosby's timeless voice with V’s contemporary charm. Crosby’s version of “White Christmas,” which first appeared in the 1942 musical Holiday Inn, remains one of the best-selling singles of all time, with over 50 million physical copies sold globally.
V, who grew up listening to Crosby’s iconic tracks like “It’s Been a Long, Long Time,” expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to work with one of his idols. "I sang with the utmost sincerity and admiration for him," V shared in a press release. “I hope many people enjoy it as much as I enjoyed singing it.”
The duet will be available on a variety of exclusive holiday-themed vinyl, CD, and merchandise, including limited-edition variants like a Holiday Picture Disc Vinyl and a Zoetrope Snowflake Vinyl. There will also be special CD versions, one featuring a pink picture disc and the other showcasing a snowflake design.
Crosby’s family, including his daughter Mary and son Harry, expressed their joy over the collaboration, calling it a perfect blend of their father’s iconic legacy and V’s modern voice. Mary Crosby added, “Their voices blend beautifully, capturing the holiday spirit in the best possible way.”
This release comes 47 years after Crosby's legendary collaboration with David Bowie on “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy,” marking Crosby's last major cross-generational musical moment. The new duet promises to carry on that tradition of timeless holiday music with a fresh, modern twist.
