A new album has landed, celebrating the life and legacy of Brazilian Formula One legend Ayrton Senna. Titled Senna Driven, the 21-track compilation dives into techno, trance, and other electronic styles, featuring inspirational quotes from the beloved racer interwoven throughout. An impressive lineup of electronic music’s finest—Armin van Buuren, Alok, Vintage Culture, MEDUZA, Nicky Romero, and Gui Boratto—bring their own creative flair to the project, each paying homage to Senna’s daring and passion on the track.
The release coincides with the São Paulo Grand Prix, a race that Senna famously won in 1991. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of his tragic passing at the San Marino Grand Prix in 1994. As a result, Senna Driven aims to bring his spirit to life for a new generation through the universal language of music.
Speaking about the project, Senna Driven contributors MEDUZA said: “Ayrton Senna was not just a driver. Being born in the '80s, we had the chance to see him on the track. We remember the way he took corners differently from everyone else, and similarly, when he got out of the car, he distinguished himself from others by what he said in interviews. Despite being an extraordinary talent, he was the first to defend the weakest. So when the Senna family contacted us, proposing that we use one of his interviews to create a track in his honour, we agreed immediately.”
Senna Driven is currently available on streaming platforms, with a limited-edition vinyl release slated for early 2025. With both the São Paulo Grand Prix excitement and the musical energy of Senna Driven, this tribute feels like a true victory lap for the legendary driver.
