Adele brought Halloween spirit to her Las Vegas residency on November 1, delighting the crowd at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace by dressing up as Madeline Ashton from Death Becomes Her, Meryl Streep’s iconic character in the 1992 cult classic. But the surprise of the night wasn’t just Adele’s perfect costume — it was the appearance of Streep herself in the audience. While performing When We Were Young, Adele spotted the actress, ran over to say “hello,” and the two shared a heartfelt embrace on stage. “What a f*cking honor,” Adele shouted, adding “I love you!” before returning to the performance.
Adele has had her fair share of star-studded moments during this residency. Just last week, she broke into tears after noticing Celine Dion in the audience, calling it a “MOMENT” in an Instagram post. Playing at the Colosseum has always been a dream for Adele, as the venue was originally built for Dion’s 2003 residency. Adele admitted she touches a picture of Dion, posted beside the stage, for good luck before every show.
With only six shows remaining on her Weekends With Adele residency, Adele will wrap up the residency on November 23 before taking an indefinite hiatus. Her final performances have drawn major attention, with ticket prices soaring to £18,000.
In the last stretch of her shows, Adele has been supporting rising talents, recently giving a shout-out to Chappell Roan, calling her “spectacular” and full of “f*cking brilliant songs.” It’s clear that Adele, while taking time for herself, continues to lift up the voices of others as she leaves her mark on Las Vegas.
