Bruce Springsteen recently paid a surprise visit to the set of his own biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere, where he met with The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, who’s playing Springsteen in the upcoming film. The two were seen laughing, sharing a hug, and admiring a few classic cars—including a Chevrolet Z28 Camaro, which holds sentimental value as Springsteen’s first-ever car.
Directed by Scott Cooper, the film will focus on the making of Springsteen’s raw, haunting 1982 album Nebraska. With a production steeped in authenticity, the movie is being filmed on location across New Jersey and New York, drawing on Springsteen’s own backstory in these settings. White, who’s diving deep into the character, says he’s been binge-watching Springsteen’s performances and interviews to master not only his voice but his unique style and swagger.
Springsteen is thrilled with White’s casting, having recognized him as a fit after watching The Bear. “He had that interior life, but he also had a little swagger,” the musician said. Springsteen’s manager, Jon Landau, echoed the enthusiasm, calling White’s casting “perfect.”
Deliver Me From Nowhere will also feature Succession’s Jeremy Strong as Landau and Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father. While the film’s release date isn’t yet confirmed, fans can expect it to hit screens sometime in 2025, ready to bring the story behind Nebraska to a new generation of listeners and longtime fans alike.
