Nintendo has quietly rolled out a fresh offering for its fans: a dedicated music app featuring some of the most memorable soundtracks from across its legendary catalog. Launched on October 30, the app brings together the iconic tunes of Animal Crossing, Zelda, Mario, and beyond—taking video game music streaming up a level with a range of innovative features.
In a familiar, Spotify-like layout, users can browse a library stocked entirely with classic Nintendo tracks. Fans can download these directly to their devices, enjoy curated playlists based on characters, moods, and games, or even create custom playlists to suit their nostalgia-fueled listening sessions.
One standout feature is “spoiler mode,” which filters out tracks from games users haven’t played yet. Perfect for those who want to avoid accidental spoilers, this feature hides any song titles that might give away key game moments. Just set spoiler mode in the app settings and select the games you want to remain a mystery.
Nintendo also introduces looping options—a fan favorite for YouTube remixes—giving users the ability to extend tracks for 15, 30, or even 60 minutes. It’s an ideal option for those who can’t get enough of classic gaming tunes and prefer an immersive, extended listening experience.
Currently, the Nintendo Music app is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, adding a unique perk to the membership at a cost lower than most traditional music streaming services: £3.49 per month or £19.99 annually.
Following this app’s launch, Nintendo also recently unveiled the Alarmo, a gaming-inspired alarm clock, providing yet another way for fans to wake up to familiar game sounds.
