Charli XCX Joins Star-Studded Cast in Romain Gavras’ New Film "Sacrifice"

Charli XCX is set to make her mark in cinema, joining a star-studded cast for the upcoming film Sacrifice, directed by French filmmaker Romain Gavras. The film, inspired by the legendary story of Joan of Arc, will see Charli XCX alongside A-list stars like Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Evans, Vincent Cassel, and Ambika Mod.

The plot of Sacrifice follows Joan (played by Taylor-Joy), a visionary woman driven by a prophecy only she can hear, who takes it upon herself to save the world from an impending apocalypse. Along with a militia of mystical followers, Joan crashes a glamorous charity gala and takes three high-profile hostages: a movie star (Evans), the wealthiest man in the world (Cassel), and an unlucky bystander (Mod). The trio must navigate a harrowing journey through fire and forest as they confront the ultimate question: what are they willing to sacrifice for humanity?

While Charli XCX’s role in the film remains under wraps, the addition of the music star to the ensemble is exciting news for both her fans and moviegoers. Currently filming in Greece and Bulgaria, Sacrifice is one of several upcoming screen projects for Charli XCX, who continues to build a diverse career in entertainment. Her other projects include the Gregg Araki-directed I Want Your Sex and the graphic novel adaptation 100 Nights Of Hero, in which she stars alongside Emma Corrin and Maika Monroe.

Also joining the Sacrifice cast is Swedish rapper Yung Lean, marking his film debut. Lean, who previously collaborated with Charli XCX and Robyn on a remix of her track "360," brings another layer of musical talent to the film.

With a unique storyline, an impressive ensemble cast, and Charli XCX’s dynamic presence, Sacrifice is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
