Bad Bunny's ex-girlfriend defeats the singer in court for the use of her voice

Carliz de la Cruz defeated his former partner, Bad Bunny , with whom he was involved from 2011 to 2016, in the courts of Puerto Rico after a judge ruled in his favor for the unauthorized use of his voice in the artist's songs.

The complaint was filed on March 1 of last year, by Carliz de la Cruz Hernández herself, for image rights and moral copyright rights. In the same lawsuit, the Puerto Rican indicated that she recorded the phrase “ Bad Bunny baby ,” which has been used in a large number of the singer's songs.

Due to the above, De la Cruz indicated that he was entitled to fair compensation for the use of his vocal identity, demanding 40 million dollars in exchange.

After the lawsuit, the Latin superstar's lawyers sought to take the lawsuit to the state level because it was a copyright issue. However, De la Cruz , who acts as a lawyer, decided to take the issue to the courts of her country.

According to the Puerto Rican's ex-partner, she recorded the chorus “ Bad Bunny baby ” on her cell phone at the request of the same actor. After this, the phrase appeared, for the first time, in the song “Pa' ti” and was later repeated in the song “Dos mil 16”.

After this appearance, Bad Bunny decided to continue using Carliz 's voice in his concerts. Given this, the singer's ex-girlfriend's lawyers sent a series of contracts that the artist never signed, which began the legal dispute.

For all of the above, De La Cruz Hernández also alleged that the lack of consent in the use of his voice also gives rise to a claim for damages. After the resolution of the lawsuit, the “Tití Me Preguntó” singer will have to pay $40 million dollars to his ex-partner.

According to various local sources, Carliz and Bad Bunny began their relationship during their youth in Puerto Rico when they both worked for a supermarket franchise called Enoco.

According to what was mentioned by the same media, the couple had a relationship for more than 5 years. It was even reported that they were close to the altar but in 2016 they decided to go their separate ways. However, despite their breakup, it has been revealed on several occasions that various “Bad Rabbit” songs would be inspired by her.
