On July 26th, TopHit dropped the Top Radio Hits Global Weekly Chart for the week ending July 25, 2024.
This week's standout debut comes from Australian DJ and producer Cyril, alongside singer-songwriter Dean Lewis. Cyril had previously made waves with his remix of the classic soft rock track Stumblin' In, originally popularized by Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro in 1978. The song has stood the test of time, even appearing on the soundtrack of Paul Thomas Anderson's cult favorite film Licorice Pizza. Cyril's remix performed exceptionally well in Europe, landing in the top 10 charts in Germany, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Poland. Cyril's latest radio hit also pays homage to the past. Fall At Your Feet , originally by the iconic Australian band Crowded House, is one of the most beautiful and poignant rock anthems of the 1990s. The cover, featuring the vocals of Australian ballad specialist Dean Lewis, debuts at number 34.
Another notable new entry is at number 78. German DJ and hitmaker Felix Jaehn has tapped into the nostalgia for early 2000s disco-pop by collaborating with the elegant British pop diva Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Their joint effort, Ready For Your Love, is an excellent single. Its euphoric sound is perfect for clubs and radio, with Sophie’s charming vocals transporting us back to 2002 with delight.
