On August 30th, TopHit dropped the Top Spotify Hits Global Weekly Chart for the week ending August 29, 2024.

The summer’s biggest success story belongs to American pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter. Before releasing Espresso, she had already produced five studio albums, but it was the summer of 2024 that finally crowned her the queen of the charts. This week, Sabrina achieved a rare feat, with three of her songs simultaneously landing in the top 10. Her latest single, Taste, debuted at 6th place, proving that Espresso and Please Please Please were just the beginning of her chart-topping streak. Combined, these tracks earned her over 140 million streams this week alone! And that’s not even counting the numerous other songs of hers that are heating up just outside the top 10. The release of her new studio album Short n' Sweet, which has been warmly received by critics for its refreshing humor and clever lyrics, contributed significantly to her success.
The only artist who could rival her this week was Colombian musician Kapo. His blend of Afrobeats and Latin Urban on the track Uwaie debuted at 43rd place. In a curious coincidence, another track of his, Ohnana, landed at 44th place with nearly identical numbers—over 13 million streams.
And here’s how the top five most spun tracks on the Global Spotify are stacking up today:

Last week, 83% of tracks on the air were in English, 14% in Spanish, with Pop, Power Pop, Singer/Songwriter and R&B reigning as the most popular genres.
