Post Malone: "It Must Suck to Be as Famous as Taylor Swift or Beyonce"

Post Malone, the genre-blending artist known for his introspective lyrics and chart-topping hits, recently opened up about the pressures of fame, comparing his experiences with those of megastars Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. Despite having collaborated with both artists on their 2024 album releases, Malone admits that he wouldn’t want to reach their levels of notoriety.

In a candid interview with The New York Times, Posty – whose real name is Austin Richard Post – reflected on the challenges he observed while working with Swift and Beyoncé. He recalled an instance during the filming of the music video for his collaboration with Swift on her track "Fortnight," from the album The Tortured Poets Department. According to Malone, the security measures taken to protect Swift from paparazzi were intense, involving an "umbrella and drapes over the golf cart" to shield her from drones and helicopters. "I can’t even imagine being at their level – it must suck," he shared, highlighting the enormous pressure they face.

Malone also discussed the complex process of working with Beyoncé on their track "LEVII'S JEANS," which involved layers of security and coordination. The rapper never met Beyoncé in person during the collaboration, instead working remotely and communicating via text. "It was terrifying," he admitted, expressing his awe and respect for the superstar.

Despite the challenges, Malone was quick to express his admiration for both artists. He described his collaboration with Swift as a "once in a lifetime" opportunity, praising her creativity and heart. Similarly, he was honored to have worked on Beyoncé’s project, acknowledging the immense talent she brings to the table.

As Malone gears up for the release of his sixth studio album F-1 Trillion on August 16, he’s also been reflecting on the personal growth he’s experienced, particularly as a father. The new country-inspired album will feature collaborations with music legends like Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, and more, showcasing Posty’s ever-evolving artistry.
