Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg Team Up with Sting for New Album "Missionary"

Hip-hop legends Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are back in the lab, and this time they’re cooking up something truly special. After years of speculation, Dr. Dre finally dropped some juicy details about their highly anticipated collaborative album, “Missionary,” during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. The album, which has been slowly building buzz over the last couple of years, is shaping up to be a massive moment in music — and it might even feature Sting!

Dre let the cat out of the bag when asked how many tracks he’s rapping on. “I did a couple of songs, I’m not sure one of them is gonna make it,” he shared, before casually dropping, “We have Sting on a song…” Realizing he might’ve said too much, Dre quickly backtracked, adding, “Man, it’s an amazing roster of artists on this album, I shouldn’t have even said that to be honest.”

But that wasn’t all Dre revealed. Reflecting on what it’s like to team up with Snoop nearly 30 years after their iconic album “Doggystyle,” Dre said, “It was much more fun, to be honest, because we were kids at that time — he was 19 and I think I’m six years older. So one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and my music. I feel this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career — I’m not playing! I think people are really gonna enjoy this.”

The album is set to feature between 14 and 16 tracks, with Dre aiming for the former and Snoop pushing for a couple more. Fans can expect the album to drop in November, with Dre revealing that he has to have it wrapped up and delivered by September 1.

What’s the vibe of “Missionary”? Dre hints that it’s an album women are going to love. “It shows a massive amount of growth and maturity with the lyrics and with the music,” he explained.

Dre and Snoop’s partnership is legendary, from their groundbreaking work on 1992’s “The Chronic” to hits like “Still D.R.E.” and “Forgot About Dre.” They’ve continued to collaborate over the years, most recently tearing up the stage at the 2022 Super Bowl and the Paris Olympics closing ceremony. Now, with “Missionary” on the horizon, it looks like they’re ready to make history all over again.
