Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter has just dropped a spine-tingling trailer for her upcoming single, Taste, featuring none other than Wednesday star Jenna Ortega. The teaser, shared on Carpenter’s Instagram, dives into a horror-themed world, setting the stage for what promises to be a standout track from her highly anticipated sixth album, Short N’ Sweet, which drops tomorrow (August 23).
The video shows Carpenter casually browsing through an array of sharp metal objects before arriving at a grand mansion. In a scene straight out of a classic thriller, she catches Ortega in the shower with a lover, teasing a dramatic, Psycho-inspired moment. Carpenter then coolly uses the blade as a mirror to reapply her lipstick, whispering the ominous line, “Oh, I’ll leave quite the impression.”
This latest single follows the massive success of Espresso, the lead track from Short N’ Sweet, which dominated charts around the world this summer. Despite initial doubts from “the powers above,” Carpenter stuck to her guns, and the track quickly became a global hit, even earning praise from Adele, who called it “my jam.”
With the excitement for Short N’ Sweet building, Carpenter has already expanded her tour, adding more UK and European dates. The tour kicks off in Dublin on March 3, 2024, and will take her through major cities across the continent, including an extra date at London’s The O2. But before she heads to Europe, fans in North America can catch her this fall, starting in Columbus, Ohio, on September 23.
And if that’s not enough, Carpenter is also set to perform at the 2024 VMAs in New York on September 11. With Taste and Short N’ Sweet on the horizon, Sabrina Carpenter is poised to take the music world by storm once again.
