On May 17th, TopHit dropped the Top Spotify Hits Global Weekly Chart for the week ending May 16, 2024.
The Spotify Global Weekly Chart top new releases are:
Post Malone, after a successful collaboration with Taylor Swift, decided to embrace the country style which is gaining popularity nowadays and together with a hot country artist Morgan Wallen they released a catchy track I Had Some Help, which garnered 57 million listens and started at number three on the Spotify global chart.
A complete surprise for everyone was the rise of Dutch rapper Joost, who performed at the last Eurovision Song Contest and received a lot of praise from the European audience, but was disqualified due to some incident. Curiously, his happy hardcore track Europapa is now live on Spotify and starts at number 31 on the chart, while the Eurovision winner, the Swiss artist Nemo and The Code, who is remembered for their spectacular number - settles for 54th place.
And here’s how the top five most spun tracks on the Global Spotify are stacking up today:
1. Million Dollar Baby - Tommy Richman
2. Euphoria - Kendrick Lamar
3. I Had Some Help - Post Malone feat. Morgan Wallen
4. Espresso - Sabrina Carpenter
5. I Like The Way You Kiss Me - Artemas
Last week, 83% of tracks on the air were in English, 13% in Spanish, with Pop, Power Pop, Singer/Songwriter and Dance reigning as the most popular genres.
