Taylor Swift Becomes the World’s Richest Female Musician

Taylor Swift has officially reached a major new milestone, claiming the title of the world’s richest female musician. With an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion, Swift’s financial success has surged thanks to her Eras Tour and the massive popularity of her re-recorded albums.

Just this year, the pop icon made her debut on Forbes’ billionaire list, and now her net worth has been updated to reflect her ongoing triumphs. She has now surpassed Rihanna, who boasts a net worth of $1.4 billion but previously held the title of the richest female musician of all time, with her peak reaching $1.77 billion.

Swift now ranks as the second richest musician in the world, right behind Jay-Z, who tops the list with an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion. According to Forbes, Swift has earned around $600 million from her royalties and touring, with another $600 million from her back catalog. The decision to re-record her old albums as part of her fight to regain control of her master recordings has proven to be a huge financial win, with her most recent release, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), outselling the original.

Beyond music, Swift has also been raking in impressive amounts from real estate, with Forbes estimating her property holdings to be worth $125 million. In 2023 alone, it’s reported she earned a cool $100 million from Spotify streaming royalties, powered by the massive success of both Midnights and 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

Swift’s Eras Tour has made waves worldwide, becoming the first tour ever to gross $1 billion. With its accompanying concert film breaking box office records, it’s no wonder Swift's wealth is skyrocketing.

As for the tour itself, she wrapped up the UK and European legs of her Eras Tour in August, closing out with five sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium. In honor of her residency, the venue gifted Swift her own personalized Wembley guitar, and there’s even talk of her being awarded the prestigious Freedom of the City of London.

Swift’s Eras Tour will continue in Miami on October 18, with the final show slated for Vancouver this December. And with all that she’s accomplished, it’s clear that the Taylor Swift juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down.
