The rumors gained traction on September 25 when Lisa posted a short TikTok clip of herself singing Sixpence None the Richer’s iconic 1997 hit “Kiss Me.” The snippet featured a dance-pop remix of the classic, instantly catching the attention of fans.
Adding fuel to the fire, fans noted that the pink outfit Lisa donned in the video closely resembles the aesthetic of Carpenter’s recent tour wardrobe. The following night, Carpenter further stirred the pot by covering “Kiss Me” during her concert in Detroit, Michigan, delighting attendees and intensifying the speculation around a possible collaboration.
This comes as Carpenter has been changing up her setlist on her ongoing “Short N’ Sweet” headlining tour, opting for new covers instead of fan-favorite outro performances of her hit “Nonsense.”
Meanwhile, Lisa is set to make a splash at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, marking a return for the event after a six-year hiatus. Alongside her, music legends like Cher and South African afrobeats singer Tyla will also grace the stage.
This year has already been productive for Lisa, who released two solo singles: “Rockstar” and the Rosalía-featured “New Woman.” Both tracks followed her successful solo debut with “Lalisa” in 2021.
