The Beastie Boys have announced the 30th anniversary reissue of their iconic 1994 album, "Ill Communication."
On May 31, the actual anniversary date, the Beastie Boys shared a video on social media unveiling the upcoming box set. This collection will feature three vinyl records - two remastered original albums and a third with remixes, bonus tracks, and rarities - all presented with a lenticular cover.
Originally released in 2009 as a limited edition of 1,500 copies, this box set is now making a return. Additionally, the album will be reissued on cassette for the first time since its 1994 debut. Pre-orders will be available starting July 26.
The 30th-anniversary edition of "Ill Communication" will include special features like an acoustic rendition and live recording of "Heart Attack Man," a remix of "Get It Together," and an instrumental version of "Sure Shot" with a European B-Boy twist.
This reissue continues the band's tradition of celebrating significant anniversaries of their seminal albums, following the 30th-anniversary campaigns for "License to Ill" (1986), "Paul's Boutique" (1989), and "Check Your Head" (1992). Last year, they also marked the 25th anniversary of "Hello Nasty."

In September, surviving members Ad-Rock and Mike D attended a ceremony in Manhattan where the intersection of Ludlow and Rivington was officially renamed Beastie Boys Square, immortalizing the spot featured on the "Paul's Boutique" album cover.
Reflecting on the honor, Ad-Rock remarked, “It makes me really happy to know that some kid on the way to school 50 years from now is gonna look up and say, ‘What the f**k is a Beastie Boy? Why do they get a square?’
Mike D added, “We could not have become what we became without growing up in New York City.”
