The Wait is Over: GloRilla's Debut Album Has Even Rihanna Excited!

Memphis rap sensation GloRilla is gearing up for the release of her debut studio album, Glorious. Dropping on Friday, October 11 via CMG/Interscope, the highly anticipated project follows a series of singles that have cemented her status as one of the most exciting new voices in hip-hop.

GloRilla took to social media on September 19 to share the big news with her fans, revealing the album’s throwback cover art, inspired by '90s R&B. She also treated her followers to a new track, “HOLLON,” released at midnight as a sneak peek of what's to come.

“This and ‘TGIF’ was just a taste of all the fire we’ve got coming! LET’S GOOOOOO!!!” she hyped in her post, signaling that she’s got much more in store for her fanbase.

The debut album will build on the success of her previous projects, including the 2024 mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang and her breakout 2022 EP Anyways, Life’s Great. Last year, GloRilla teased her album plans, saying she’s aiming for the top of the charts with anthems that will have “all the girls screaming.”

And it seems everyone’s waiting—including Rihanna, who recently cheekily asked, “When the album drop?”

Alongside her upcoming release, GloRilla has been making waves on the awards circuit. She’s racked up several nominations for the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards, including Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Yeah Glo!,” and Best Collaboration for “Wanna Be” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
