Chris Martin Prepares for Coldplay’s Historic Glastonbury Headline

Coldplay's charismatic frontman, Chris Martin, was spotted spreading the love—and some seriously cool tech—among festival-goers today, June 29th. As the band gears up for their record-breaking fifth headline performance on the Pyramid Stage, Martin has been handing out the band's iconic Xyloband LED wristbands. These glowing accessories will light up the night in sync with the band's epic beats, adding an extra layer of magic to what’s already set to be an unforgettable show.

Coldplay is making history tonight by becoming the most frequent headliners at Worthy Farm, outshining previous records. Their much-anticipated set will also be streamed globally alongside last night’s headliner, Dua Lipa, making this a truly worldwide Glastonbury experience.

Fans were thrilled to catch a glimpse of Martin in the crowd, who seemed to be on a mission to convince everyone to catch Coldplay's show. According to @secretglasto, Martin was seen chatting with festival-goers, ensuring no one missed out on the band's legendary performance.

In a recent BBC documentary, "Coldplay: Our Glastonbury," Martin reminisced about the band’s nearly disastrous first gig at the festival back in 1999. They were dropped off at the wrong entrance by their tour manager just minutes before their debut performance. “The hunger to go there was so huge. Our first introduction, I think, was probably carrying a not-very-good amplifier with a drunken tour manager who, you know, obviously didn’t know what he was doing either," Martin recalled with a laugh.

The gates to Glastonbury 2024 opened on Wednesday, June 26, welcoming a stellar lineup that includes headliners like Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA, along with Shania Twain in the legends slot. Performances from LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Little Simz, Burna Boy, Idles, Anne-Marie, Confidence Man, Disclosure, Camila Cabello, The Last Dinner Party, Avril Lavigne, The National, Jessie Ware, Jungle, Justice, Masego, Sugababes, and many more promise to make this a festival for the ages.
