Glastonbury 2024 just got a whole lot cooler. Picture this: Tom Cruise and Simon Pegg, arms waving, singing along to Oasis’ "Don’t Look Back In Anger" with thousands of festival-goers. Yes, it really happened.
The dynamic duo was spotted at the Pyramid Stage, hanging out with none other than Gillian Anderson and "Mission Impossible" director Christopher McQuarrie. They were there to catch Coldplay's record-breaking fifth headline set. As the crowd erupted into a spontaneous sing-along of the Oasis classic, Pegg couldn't resist channeling his inner maestro, dramatically conducting the crowd while Cruise joined in the chorus.
Earlier in the day, Pegg was busy introducing "Shaun of the Dead" for its 20th-anniversary screening alongside director Edgar Wright. Because why not mix a bit of zombie humor with your festival vibes? As for Cruise, he’s been on a bit of a musical tour himself, recently spotted at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley. Clearly, the man knows how to pick his gigs.
Coldplay’s headlining performance on Saturday night was nothing short of legendary. They made history by becoming the only band to headline the Pyramid Stage five times. And as if that wasn't enough, they brought out rapper Little Simz for a new track ‘We Pray’ and ended the night with a nostalgic twist by inviting Michael J. Fox to join them for an encore. Fox shredded the guitar, making the night even more magical. However, not everyone liked Chris Martin's accent. Currently living in Malibu, he has received comments on social media from British viewers expressing surprise at the strange and highly artificial American pronunciation of the Coldplay frontman.
